I recently needed to upload some attachments to nodes that exceeded the 8M allowed by my host godaddy.com I called godaddy support and they suggested modifying a php.ini file from my localhost pc and uploading to my root. I did and the change took. My upload file size was increased to 24M and I was able to upload all my attachments. Later, I tried running my old Mambo site, I have set up an HTML form to upload files to the server space I use but it is really slow, especially with files that are over 100 megabytes.
